We were asked by a large European oil & natural gas producer to design two courses. The first was to be an education focused course that would provide their back and middle office with an overview of natural gas trading; for an audience with no previous front line trading experience. The second was to be an assessed course for a pool of delegates with some commercial experience, in order to determine their trading potential.
We designed the educational course to incorporate both speculative and asset optimisation trading simulations, in addition to options theory and its relevance to the asset backed world, something the delegates found fascinating.
We delivered these courses over 2-days in mainland Europe, the UK and North America. Our assessed courses are structured flexibly to allow delegates to travel with the minimum disruption and to minimise time away from their desks.
The delegates were given 2 online courses to complete prior to the start of the course, covering 8 modules, to ensure that everyone began the course with the same knowledge base.
The course started with some revision of these key concepts before the fully assessed simulations began. A PRISM brain mapping questionnaire was completed by each delegate to determine their behavioural preferences.
Back and mid-office teams left with an understanding of Natural Gas Trading suitable to enable them up-skill the organisation,and help individuals understand and experience front office operations.
A comprehensive written assessment report gave the Client’s commercial management team the opportunity to see how their staff performed in a real world, pressured but safe environment. It allowed the Client to see how their staff compared to the 800+ other individuals from other companies included in the TwoTwoFive Assessed Trader population, and was used to improve the development decisions for the participating delegates.
